The Outward Bound Trust – outdoor education specialists

The Outward Bound Trust is an educational charity with a long track record of providing challenging outdoor adventures for young people. Evidence strongly suggests these experiences raise aspirations, develop independence, discipline, resilience, team work and confidence as well as communication, leadership and problem solving – skills that are in demand in the modern workplace and which underpin successful social development.

The true Outward Bound® experience is about ‘getting out there’, using the mountains, lakes, rivers and sea on our doorsteps as a classroom, to enable young people to see what they are truly capable of achieving in life. The Trust’s centres are based in some of the most inspiring locations the UK has to offer: Snowdonia (Aberdovey), the Lake District (Ullswater, Howtown and Eskdale) and the Scottish Highlands (Loch Eil). Adventures and activities offered depend on the location of the centre, but range from kayaking, abseiling, expeditions and orienteering to sailing, canoeing and rolex replica daytona gorge walking.

The Trust also runs a non-residential operation, Outward Bound Metro, which provides tailor-made programmes across central Scotland to meet the particular needs of young people living in urban areas.

The Trust has worked with schools for close to 70 years, raising aspirations and achievement for many tens of thousands of young people. In 2009-10, over 25,000 young people benefitted from an Outward Bound® residential experience, 50% of which received financial assistance through The Trust’s bursary scheme.

In addition to its core education work with schools and colleges, The portwatch Trust also delivers apprentice and graduate development programmes for young adults and summer programmes for individuals aged 11-24years old.

English Presbyterian Church
If you are visiting Aberdyfi, why not come along to a Sunday morning service at the English Presbyterian Church. The service will begin at 11 am. Coffee or tea is served afterwards. You are very welcome to join us.

St Peters Church
Anglican Church in Wales, St Peter's welcomes all visitors at our services or just to admire the building. We are open most weekdays from 10.00am - 4.00pm. Sundays at service times.
