Aberdovey Lifeboat Station
Aberdovey has an Atlantic 75 lifeboat, which is manned entirely by volunteers from the village, who are ready to respond to any emergency at sea at a second's notice. The station also has a shop which open most weekends for gifts and donations, and also to look around the boathouse.
To see details of recent shouts, videos from the crew seat, or if you fancy helping out with the crew or with fundraising, please visit the station website; www.aberdoveylifeboat.org.uk
There has been an RNLI lifeboat in the village since 1837, and now we are proud to host a state-of-the-art boat, which cost £175,000 and was funded entirely by voluntary contributions. The boat is named 'Sandwell Lifeline' in recognition of the fundrasing carried out by the people of the borough of Sandwell. In the past few years the boat has saved many lives, with rescues of many windsurfers, swimmers, a jet pilot who ejected after engine failure, boat collisions, injuries, sinking boats, general distress at sea,(and even a christmas tree!?!) to name but a few! Keep up to date with recent launches on the website.
Lifeboat week is coming soon! 26th July - 1st August
